Group of Experts

Scientific monitoring was provided by an independent advisory board.
Its members evaluated the study criteria, the selection of participants and the results. After evaluating the results, they submitted written comments. Below are some extracts:

“In this particular case, it is worthy of note that the control of the different independent variables - achieved by creating a standard test environment and in particular a standard training environment and standard training procedures  - was the result of the philosophy that Kieser Training also adopts in its normal training, a philosophy that makes the training so effective. […] The standardisation of training machines, exercises and instruction together with the standard training given to instructors made the results of the study valid and reliable.“
Paul Eigenmann, Managing Director of the Swiss company Qualitop, is an expert in quality certification in the fitness sector.

“In any biometric study, the size of the random sample is an important factor in determining the interest shown in the study by the media and experts in the field. In this study, it is clear that there were far more applicants than spaces available. […] The system for selecting participants for this study, i.e. using a random number generator was spot on.
Professor Dr. Walter Krämer is Professor in Economic and Social Statistics at the Technical University of Dortmund.

“An impressive element of this study was the precision and scientific quality of its procedures. It was a multi-centre study with an adequate number of participants, which ensured guaranteed and valid outcomes.[…] The only problem was that the study was commissioned by Kieser Training AG and carried out in Kieser facilities. To the outsider, this could easily give the impression that the results were not objective. However, it would be difficult for an independent research institution to organise a study with such a high sample number, comparable conditions and set in a multi-centre environment. As a result, the consistency of results was higher than in comparable  studies.“
Professor Dr. Dietmar Schmidtbleicher is Professor in Training and Exercise Sciences at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Smolenski

“In summary, it can be noted that that the scientific interest of Kieser Training AG is extremely positive. Its  ability to carry out scientific research in the field of prevention is unique in Germany.
In terms of scientific ethics, a study by an external body. which meets the required standards is highly appropriate.  It is extremely positive that attention is being given to the scientific evaluation of therapy concepts, something very much needed in the field of physiotherapy and in particular training therapy."
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Smolenski is Director of the Institute for Physiotherapy at the University Clinic of Jena and is Chairman of the DGMM, the German Association for Manual Medicine.
